Whoever said you can't go home again, lied. :) I have been blessed with very supportive parents and in-laws and there have been times where we've had to go home again. Thankfully, never for any long period of time. Recently, our son, Cody, and his fiancee, Jackie, moved in with us. I love my children but I have discovered that I love them much easier if they aren't living as adults in my house. I am quite sure Cody would say the same thing about parents. You know the old saying....it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there? So, Cody and Jackie have moved on and I wish them well. I know God has great plans for their lives and I pray that they are attentive to His still, small voice. We are back to 3 in our house now. Well, really, just 2 most days because Tony stays at the plantation through much of the week. I miss my hubby but it's been rather nice to have some time to myself not to mention the limited amount of cooking I am having to do.

Last night was the 2011 Boston Pageant. There were so many pretty young ladies and young girls. I'm so glad I wasn't a judge. It would have been tough in some of those categories. We are so proud of Maggie! She is the new Jr Miss Boston. She is just thrilled. We look forward to a year of representing Boston and attending parades.

I will try to be back soon this week. Have some things to share about the house and such. Take care!

Making Your 'Nest' a Haven

Yesterday, a friend told me about http://womenlivingwell.org/ and a challenge they have issued for the month of October. I want nothing more than for my house to be a home, a haven. I used to prayer walk my house and pray over each room but busyness and distractions have gotten in the way and I haven't done that in way too long. The Bible portrays the woman as the heart of the home. Proverbs 31:27, "She looketh well to the ways [doings] of her household". Looketh well, is a verb that means to keep watch, to look about, to spy. Now, moms and wives, I'm not saying God is telling us to be a snoop! Haha. God is instructing us to be constantly aware of the happenings, or lack of even, in our homes. Some parents are not aware of what their children are involved in, who their friends are, what's going on in school, what they are watching on TV or computer. I believe parents need to be very much aware of what is taking place in order to be able to better minister to their family. I'm not suggesting we police their every move but that we are equipping ourselves to better parent them. To be able to meet their needs, we need to know their needs.

I encourage you to take this 31 Day Challenge of Making your home a haven.
